Dueling Club

Spell of the week - Pimple Jinx
Maximum Score - 116

A while ago we tried to revive TOAD (The Order Against the over-use of petrificus totalus in Dueling) the previous dueling club on Pottermore but it wasn't really successful, having spoken to a few people about this we decided the reason it didn't work was because it is too complicated so a few of us started our own club run through PM and Skype. We are wondering now if anyone wishes to join us.

The aims are the same as those of TOAD, to be able to duel fellow PFF'ers and not use full Body Bind all the time. What we do at the moment is each week we choose a spell and then any time any member of the club challenges you during that week you know straightaway you can reply using that week's chosen spell, no need to issue challenges, no need to update the results of every single duel.

We do keep score but all we do is once a week we all update the duels we have won. We can't cheat as if we say we have beaten a certain person three times they can easily check their records and see if that is true.

To simplify the process so we don't miss the duels we have renamed each other on PM putting AADC in front of each others names. DC for dueling club and AA to bring the names to the top of the page on the friends list on the dueling page on PM. this also makes it easier to find people to challenge.

We are also open to suggestions for improving the system, this is just the way we have been doing it for the last few months.

Elena has made us some lovely stamps. feel free to use then in your signatures.

I'd love to!
The AADC naming system is ingenious! It'd certainly make it clear who is who!

I don't know if I will be able to duel a lot, and I have indeed a question: I am pretty sure that our dueling records on Pottermore aren't kept for a week long (many times I duelled a guy, 3-4 days later I wanted to duel again with him, but my dueling records didn't show anymore his name...). What we will do in that case?
How will be the ranks? First place at who won most duels or first place at who has the highest percentage of winning duels?

Patronus, at the moment we keep our own records so each time I log off I update a list of my results against the other members of the club.

That way if the records are wiped we all have the results.

At he moment we all duel pretty evenly so we keep score by numbers won, but if some people would like to take part who aren't that active a % win system could easily be worked out.

This is what I mean we are open to ideas to make it easier.

Join up and we will work something out to make it fair for everyone.

I think that it's better to have a rank basedwupon the number of winning duels, to keep have the "dueling mood", and that we won't be annoyed if we will have 2 duel won and 14 lost duels.

Well.. this is sort of why I stopped dueling, using the Full-Body Bind was getting monotonous and boring, so I've only been going on Pottermore when new chapters come out.

But, I could probably get back into it with this so we're using different spells.

I'd like to join. :D

Added everyone to the list for now.

We'll give it a little longer see if anyone else is interested. In the meantime if anyone has any good ideas on how to run this, please share them.

I'd certainly be interested. Especially since Hufflepuff fell out of the House Cup lead on PM!
